Welcome to my website

I am an artist who works in acrylics, oils, and pastels. I enjoy painting Southwest life, landscapes, still life, and abstracts, many of which are drawn from my imagination. As with many artists, I strive to develop new techniques and skills that will let me express my art in new ways.

I have always been an artist. My interest in art led to studies at Mesa Community College and ASU where I was taught by notable instructors, Dr. Bill Voss, Woody Payne and Ben Goo. After college I pursued a career in newspaper publishing both in graphic design and technology. When my work life ended I took up my brushes and paints again starting with a workshop at Otis College of Art and Design in California. Afterwards I became involved with Destination: Art Studios and Gallery there in Torrance. D:A proved to be a wonderful space to build my art skills and meet other talented artists. While there, I took numerous classes and workshops with both international and national instructors. I entered many art shows and exhibits. I soon became a leader in the organization as vice president and board member.

In November 2020 I moved to Arizona and immediately became involved with an art organization here in Surprise, WHAM Art Center, where I have a studio. WHAM has been a great place for me to continue my journey in art, meet new artists and get involved with new organizations. In addition to being a WHAM member I am also a member at Ground Floor Artists in Surprise. My work has been shown and awarded in art shows and galleries both here in Arizona and Southern California.
